Dr. Andrew Conrad Barile is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the CEO and Founder of Xtreem Pulse LLC, the engineering company behind PureLift. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Daemen College and is a licensed physical therapist.

He brings over two decades of clinical and entrepreneurial experience across physical therapy, craniosacral therapy and medical device innovation, built on a working knowledge of human anatomy and muscle physiology.

For PureLift LAB he reviews how current is delivered across all ten levels, from sub-sensory nanocurrent and skin-level microcurrent to motor-level EMS, and how the Infuse pass fits into the same ten-minute routine.

What's This About:

PureLift Pro lifts the look of the face by working the facial muscles with nanocurrent, microcurrent and EMS on one dial, giving a firmer, more lifted jaw, cheeks and brows with regular sessions over several weeks.

This guide explains how the Pro lifts, such as:

- how muscle toning gives a lifted look

- what each level on the dial does

- which areas lift most visibly

- who the Pro suits

- how to use it for lifting

and many more!

We make PureLift Pro, so we have kept to what the device does and what the evidence supports.

Key Points:

PureLift Pro is $699, with up to 7 mA at 500 ohms and FDA clearance K230506.

Levels 1 and 2 are nanocurrent and microcurrent for gentle toning; levels 3 to 10 are EMS for a stronger, visible contraction.

The jawline, cheeks and brows lift most visibly because the muscles there sit close to the surface.

A lasting change builds over several weeks of four or five sessions a week.

The Pro does not tighten loose skin or replace lost volume.

How a device lifts the look of the face

As we age, facial muscles lose tone, and the jaw, cheeks and brows sit a little lower. Working those muscles regularly gives a firmer, more lifted look.

A randomized controlled trial by Kavanagh and colleagues, published in 2012, measured the effect of facial electrical stimulation on the facial muscles after twelve weeks of regular use.

Why faces drop with age is covered in our article on why the face sags after 40.

What each level does

Levels Current What you feel Used for
1 Nanocurrent Usually nothing Sensitive areas, warm-up
2 Microcurrent Light tingle or nothing Gentle toning
3 to 10 EMS Visible muscle contraction Stronger toning and lift

How microcurrent and EMS differ is in our EMS versus microcurrent article.

Where the lift shows most

Jawline, gliding from the chin toward the ear.

Cheeks, gliding from the corner of the mouth toward the top of the ear.

Brows and forehead, gliding upward. The full zone guide is in our zone guide.

Who the Pro suits

People in their thirties and older who notice a softer jaw or a slight drop in the cheeks and brows.

People who want a stronger EMS setting as well as gentle microcurrent.

People who want a larger handle for comfortable daily sessions.

How to use PureLift Pro for lifting

Cleanse, then apply a generous layer of water-based conductive serum.

Start on level 2 to warm up, then move to a comfortable EMS level.

Glide slowly upward and outward, holding at the end of each pass, no more than three minutes per side.

Use it four or five times a week for the first eight to twelve weeks, then two or three times a week to maintain.

What the Pro cannot do

Tighten loose or crepey skin, replace lost volume or give permanent results. See our article on whether microcurrent devices work.

Start on level 2, then move to a comfortable EMS level from 3 upward.

Is PureLift Pro better than microcurrent alone

It adds EMS levels for a stronger contraction alongside nanocurrent and microcurrent.

Can PureLift Pro tighten loose skin

No. It works on muscle tone, not skin laxity.
