Key Points:
Medicube lists Booster, MC, Derma Shot and Air Shot modes on the original Booster Pro, plus sonic vibration and LED.
A Protoclinical guide describes Booster as electroporation, MC as microcurrent and Derma Shot as mid-frequency EMS, and Medicube's Air Shot as an electric-needle technology.
Medicube recommends Air Shot two or three times a week for five minutes, and the other modes one to three times a day for five to ten minutes.
Medicube recommends level 1 for thin-skinned areas such as around the eyes; the original has five levels and the X2 six.
The X2 adds AI Mode, Dual Mode and Mask Mode, and some of these need the AGE-R app.

Booster mode
Medicube says Booster mode enhances the absorption of active ingredients. Apply a light serum or ampoule first, then glide the device in circles or from the center of the face outward.
How electroporation compares with microcurrent is in our microcurrent vs nanocurrent article.
Air Shot mode
Medicube says Air Shot activates with one point of contact and is for wide-pored areas such as the T-zone. Protoclinical notes Medicube's instructions call for clean, completely dry skin and a sweeping motion with the edge of the head.
Use it two or three times a week, not daily, and skip it on sensitive or irritated skin.
MC mode
MC is the Booster Pro's microcurrent mode. Medicube describes it for areas prone to sagging, around the eyes and mouth. Keep the full head in contact and move upward from the inside of the face outward.
How microcurrent works is in our article on what a microcurrent device is.
Derma Shot mode
Medicube describes Derma Shot for areas that need more definition. Protoclinical describes it as mid-frequency EMS and advises moving slowly and pausing only one to two seconds on chosen areas.
How EMS differs from microcurrent is in our EMS versus microcurrent article.
Sonic vibration and LED
Medicube lists sonic vibration and an LED that lights only when the head touches the skin. The LED can be turned off in the app.
The order to use them
Air Shot first, on clean dry skin, on the days you use it.
Apply your serum, then Booster to help it absorb.
MC and Derma Shot over your skincare for lifting and definition.
Finish with moisturizer. Our general order is in our microcurrent before or after skincare article.
Intensity levels
Protoclinical says the original has five levels, and Medicube's X2 page lists six. Medicube recommends level 1 for thin-skinned areas such as around the eyes.
What the X2 adds
Medicube lists AI Mode, which adapts to your skin, Dual Mode, which runs two care modes at once, and Mask Mode, for use over essence sheet masks only. Some features need the AGE-R app. See our Booster Pro X2 review.
Is the Booster Pro the right device for you
It suits people who want skincare absorption, pore care and a microcurrent step in one device. We found no FDA clearance for it.
Comparisons are in Medicube vs NuFACE, Medicube vs ZIIP HALO and Medicube vs FOREO BEAR 2.
Do not use any facial current device if you have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, if you are pregnant or if you have epilepsy, and skip broken or irritated skin. The full list is in our safety article.
