The specifications wall (four types of microcurrent, 680 microamps, Anti-Shock System, T-Sonic pulsations) is designed to look overwhelming, and the marketing framing pushes toward "non-surgical facelift" language that sets high expectations. What the BEAR 2 specifications actually mean
The 680 microamp figure is a peak value, and the Anti-Shock System exists specifically to reduce that peak during actual use. The microcurrent literature, which the BEAR 2 technology belongs to, does not contain equivalent evidence for these structural outcomes. It contains cellular-effect studies, satisfaction surveys, and cellular-signaling research. There is no BEAR 2-comparable study documenting the muscle-thickness gains, the jawline definition improvements, or the cheek volume changes that the facial NMES literature documents, because microcurrent does not activate the muscles that produce those outcomes. The gap in the evidence base is not a marketing oversight. It is a direct reflection of what the technology mechanistically cannot do.
When you read a BEAR 2 marketing claim about "non-surgical facelift" or "facial gym" outcomes, ask what the underlying mechanism is and what published evidence supports the specific structural claim being made. The peak-versus-average conversation
The 680 microamp peak specification is often used in comparisons to suggest BEAR 2 offers more electrical power than other microcurrent devices. Peak values matter less than average delivered current across a session, and less still than whether the current is doing the work the buyer is paying for. A device delivering 680 microamps at peak in the low-frequency microcurrent range is still working at the cellular and superficial fascia layer. It is not reaching the muscle layer, and no adjustment to peak amperage changes which layer the technology can access. Frequency determines the anatomical target. Amperage within that frequency band determines the intensity of the effect at the target. Higher amperage in the wrong frequency band does not translate to reaching a deeper layer.
