The one thing to understand

Your face is built in layers, and each layer needs a different kind of help.

Think of it like a cake.

The surface of your skin is a brick wall: dead cells for bricks, fats for mortar. Infusion is a doorbell that gets the wall to open a crack, just for a moment.

The science, simply

In 1993, scientists at MIT showed that short electrical pulses open temporary routes through the surface of the skin.

While the routes are open, up to ten thousand times more of a test molecule can pass through (Prausnitz, 1993).

Six years later the same trick was tried with a skincare ingredient, and it measurably increased how much vitamin C got into human skin (Zhang, 1999).

How ours is different

Infusion is a dedicated pass, not a bolt-on: it runs after the muscle work, when the skin is warm and the blood is flowing, with your serum already on.

It works with any water-based serum, so nobody sells you a bottle to make the device work.

Very few home devices carry an infusion technology at all; among the brands we reviewed, only one does.

The honest bit

"Supports absorption", not "deep delivery". We describe the science Infusion is built on; we have not yet measured how much of a named ingredient reaches a named depth with our technology, and the ingredient decides most of the outcome before anything is switched on.

We describe the science; we do not claim a directional push for every ingredient. Whether an ingredient moves depends on its charge, the formula around it and the current, so results for one ingredient do not transfer to another.

If a microamp were a drop of water, a nanoamp would be a thousandth of that drop. Nanocurrent is the quietest voice in the room, and your cells still hear it.

The science, simply

Every cell in your body keeps a small electrical charge across its wall, and injured skin switches on its own faint field to guide repair.

Devices that reach into the nanoamp range have been used in wound clinics, where a report on 25 patients with wounds that had resisted other treatment described improvement (Lee, 2007).

How ours is different

Nanocurrent is usually sold as a device of its own; on ours it is the first setting of the same dial that ends at the muscle.

You can start at a whisper and, on the same handpiece, on the same evening, turn up to a workout.

The honest bit

No facial study has tested nanocurrent on its own yet, and no study shows nanoamps "speak to cells" better than microamps; we call nanocurrent what it is, the gentle floor of our range, not a magic setting.

Think of the current as exercise and your serum as nutrition. Microcurrent is the warm-up: it gets the skin cells moving before the muscles start work.

The science, simply

Skin cells listen to small currents, and the best proof comes from wound healing.

When seven studies with 337 people were pooled, adding microcurrent to normal wound care helped wounds close faster (Avendaño-Coy, 2022).

In a split-face study, the side treated with microcurrent showed less eye-wrinkle volume and denser skin, while the side treated with EMS showed more lift (Kwak, 2023). Different currents, different layers, the whole idea of this page in one study.

In an earlier study of 30 women, judges who did not know which photos were "before" and "after" scored wrinkles as improved after 30 sessions (Saniee, 2012).

How ours is different

Most microcurrent brands sell you a number of microamps; we engineer the waveform, because the shape of the signal decides what the cells do.

One 2025 laboratory study found a particular low-intensity signal reduced the collagen precursor skin cells make (Kang, 2025), which is exactly why the waveform matters more than the label.

And on a PureLift, microcurrent is the second setting, not the ceiling: the same dial keeps going to the muscle.

The honest bit

About "500% more ATP". You will see it on other boxes; it comes from rat skin in a lab dish in 1982, the real figure was 379%, and it vanished at higher currents (Cheng, 1982). Microcurrent does not move muscle and does not "drain" puffiness; for lift, keep going.

Nobody expects one sit-up to change their body, but a few minutes a day, every day, is a different story. Same idea, same muscles, just on your face.

The science, simply

Muscles that get used grow stronger, and the face is no exception.

In the biggest study of its kind, 108 women used facial muscle stimulation every day for 12 weeks, and scans showed their cheek muscle got 18.6% thicker (Kavanagh, 2012).

12 weeks, daily use. The cheek muscle was measured by ultrasound, by people who did not know who had used the device, and the difference from the untreated group was clear at 6 weeks and clearer at 12.

In another study, the stimulated side of the face showed better elasticity, a sharper jawline angle and less sagging after 8 weeks (Omatsu, 2024).

Tested against a fake device, 6 weeks of stimulation made the jaw muscle thicker and stronger in adults over 65 (Chang, 2020).

CT scans in a third study showed the muscle around the eye growing thicker on the stimulated side (Okuda, 2026).

Those muscles sit in a stretchy sheet called the SMAS, the layer surgeons tighten in a facelift, and that sheet loosens with age (Okuda, 2019); working the muscles is the one non-surgical way to reach it.

How ours is different

Real muscle-level current: up to 9 milliamps, thousands of times more than a microcurrent wand, in the kilohertz band engineered to engage the muscle with less discomfort.

Eight muscle levels, because every face has three thresholds: the point you feel it, the point the muscle moves, and the point it hurts, and the gap between them changes with skin thickness, hydration and which muscle sits underneath.

It is exercise, not surgery. One session is one repetition, results build with use and fade without it, and EMS does not rebuild fat, bone or the SMAS itself; the studies above used their own devices, so they show what facial muscle stimulation can do, not a promise about you.

The science, simply

The idea is well tested on the body.

When 22 studies were pooled, a changing signal produced more muscle work with less tiredness than a fixed one (Cavalcante, 2026).

In a blind test, a randomly changing signal was harder to get used to than a steady one (Avendano-Coy, 2019).

How ours is different

Most muscle stimulators, including the professional ones, run one fixed frequency.

PDM is our own architecture, and it runs on every PureLift, from the first muscle level to the last.

The honest bit

Fair warning: not every study agrees, and one found a changing pattern tired muscle just as much (Papaiordanidou, 2014); PDM is designed to reduce "getting used to it", and we never say your muscles cannot adapt.

Spot bacteria carry molecules that react to blue light like a match to a strike-strip. Shine the right blue on them, and the reaction happens inside the bacteria, not in your skin.

The science, simply

The bacteria involved in acne make molecules called porphyrins.

Porphyrins absorb blue light, and when they do they become reactive and damage the bacteria from the inside; that part is chemistry, not marketing.

There may be a second route too: in skin cells with no bacteria present at all, blue light lowered a key sign of inflammation by up to 82% (Shnitkind, 2006).

Six studies of home LED devices, pooled in 2025. People with mild-to-moderate acne had more improvement in spots than the comparison groups, with no serious side effects (Ershadi & Barbieri, 2025).

To be fair, an older review of 14 studies found the average benefit less convincing (Scott, 2019), so we say "good short-term signs in controlled studies", not "cured".

How ours is different

Our blue is 465 nm, the exact wavelength in our FDA clearance for mild-to-moderate inflammatory acne, so the light on your face is the light that was cleared.

And the light runs while the muscle work happens, so a session that lifts is also a session that clears; no mask, no second appointment.

The honest bit

For mild-to-moderate acne only, never severe or cystic and never over the eyes; blue light can leave dark marks on medium and deeper skin tones (Duteil, 2014), so start on a low setting, and most acne studies used a slightly different blue (405 to 420 nm) while 465 nm is the one in our clearance.

Think of a plant on a windowsill. The right light, on a regular schedule, and it does more of what it already knows how to do. Your skin cells are the plant, and red light is the window.

The science, simply

The classic test gave 76 people real red light, near-infrared, both, or a fake lamp, on one side of the face, twice a week for four weeks.

Wrinkles softened and skin got bouncier on the treated side, and tiny skin samples showed more collagen and more of the stretchy fibres that keep skin firm (Lee, 2007).

Given a real or a fake red-light mask for 12 weeks, without knowing which. Crow's feet improved more in the real-light group, and the improvement was still there four weeks after they stopped (Park, 2025).

Aged 45 to 60, real light versus fake. Measured wrinkle lengths and the women's own satisfaction favoured the real light, and twice a week worked as well as three times (Bragato, 2025).

How ours is different

Our red is 634 nm, the exact wavelength in our FDA clearance for the treatment of wrinkles.

Run red and blue together and the light reads purple, for skin that has breakouts and early lines at the same time; two jobs, one pass.

And because the light lives on the same handpiece as the muscle work, the collagen layer gets its session on the same ten minutes the muscles get theirs.

The honest bit

About the "36% fewer wrinkles" you have seen on other sites: it is the best number from the best group in that 2007 study, measured against their own starting point, not the average gain over the fake lamp; real results are smaller, slower and depend on regular use, and no facial study has shown red plus blue beats either on its own.

Yes, any water-based serum that conducts, because oil-based products do not conduct electricity and will not work.

FDA-cleared, through the 510(k) pathway, for every technology on this page, with our red and blue light additionally cleared for wrinkles and for mild-to-moderate acne; clearance is a safety review, not an endorsement of results, and we do not present it as one.
